Cattlemen and Cattlewomen:
Welcome to our 20th Annual Wyoming Tested Tough Bull Sale. Friendship and a common
viewpoint about raising good cattle brought our two families together, but it is the support
and belief in our programs from our customers that have kept us going for 20-plus years.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have supported our programs
and welcome those who are attending for the first time. We truly appreciate you support,
but more than that, we value the friendships we have made. Please be our guests after the
sale at Four Aces in Glenrock to help us celebrate our 20th Anniversary.
Our registered Angus cattle are truly born and bred to thrive under the tough range
conditions known to Wyoming. The calves are raised on mama’s milk, grass and lots of
Wyoming scenery. Mother Nature is allowed to take its course, so we can truly identify
those individuals with the “DRIVE TO THRIVE.”
With the markets at all-time highs, the Angus female is and will always be at the heart of
our breeding programs. We demand that our cows utilize the available forage and convert
it efficiently in order to be bred back to calve early in the next breeding season and bring
in a big, healthy calf in the fall. All of this is expected with limited inputs. We also place
an emphasis on the convenience traits not measured by EPD’s – fertility, fleshing ability,
mothering ability, udder quality, disposition and structural soundness. Our commercial
herds give us a great opportunity to evaluate and identify genetic packages that thrive
under these range conditions. Our goal is to produce cattle that are Wyoming Tested
Tough and go out and earn a living.
Again this year, the bulls are being fed at the Bolek Feedlot south of Chadron, Neb. If you
are in the area, please feel free to stop and view the offering or you can view a sampling
of the bulls on video at
mdiamondangus.com
. Gary and Brad do an outstanding job
of allowing the bulls to express their genetic potential, yet maintain their functionality
and soundness as range bulls. The bulls have been carcass ultrasound tested and that
information is printed in the catalog. The bulls will be in Glenrock at the Central Wyoming
Livestock Sale Barn on March 20, 2012 for inspection prior to the sale. If you have any
questions, please feel free to call or e-mail. We look forward to seeing you on March 23rd.
Sincerely,
The Liscos and Boners
